Our trip is now in its final leg of getting to where we should be.
It was simply hectic. It was as though we werent supposed to be either travelling together or really going to Guyana. Nevertheless our faith was stronger than a few bumps in the road.
Sitting in the airplane I now finally feel some amount of relief.
Although I try to avoid the thought the question remains in my mind...what should I expect Guyana to be.
Well the airline kept our minds occupied or for the most part distracted. They served up a mini meal that hit the spot, quite good considering we were 57000 ft from an actual restaurant.
The meal was black beans and corn with tenderly cooked chicken breast. That came with optional cran or apple juice, sprite or coke or Carib lager beer for US$4.
As Lady T observed the Boeing 737 was a long airplane and the flight wasn't full at all. In fact the business class was the most crowded. For the rest of the airplane it gave us enough empty spaces to choose what seats we found most confortable. We moved twice to get a good seat to enjoy the inflight movie, The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Pt. 2.
Landing was rough. It felt like the airplane fell for a few inches with a jolt forward upon touching down. I think if the wind could have made screeching noises for breaking we almost heard it. With all that said, thanks to Capt. Perera we are safely on the ground in the Land of Many Waters - Guyana.
Immigration was a breeze except for entry forms...make sure you fill one per person and not one per household...as we were told.
